"The Neighbors" by Cleveland Wall

It sounds like somebody falling down the stairs
repeatedly, the rumble next door.
And even though I dislike my neighbors
intensely, I take no pleasure in this.
Because no one can fall down the stairs
over and over. After the first time,
one lies at the bottom moaning, or
perhaps unconscious. One does not get up
and do it again. No,
they are up to something over there,
and I know it is
not falling down the stairs
repeatedly.

"Extreme Sleep Training" by Cleveland Wall

Go to bed and quickly sleep.

Then get up. Go to bed.

Move your eyes rapidly.

Then drop into beta phase.

Then up again to REM.

Process the day’s information.

Renew/discard.

Up down up down.

Now the alarm.

Awake refreshed.
