"PTSD #50" by Matthew Borczon
I'm sitting
in my
car and
a song
on the
radio about
the Black
mountains
reminds me
of the
mine my
grandfather
worked in
and the
black hole
he climbed
down in
daily
the one
that made
my grandmother
cry the
day he
took her
to see
it and
I think
maybe
its not
so bad
being me
at least
my hole
doesn't
cover me
in soot
coal and
ash
when I
climb in.
"Rhonda" by Matthew Borczon
On her
wedding day
her husband
said he
sat in
his car
turning
the engine
on and
off as
he thought
of reasons
to stay
and to
leave
her sister
tried to
take off
her bridesmaid
dress in
the middle
of the
reception
to show
some guys
her new
tattoo
while Rhonda
tried hard
to believe
this was
everything
she ever
dreamed of.
